Your motorcycle training options

Had a great experience working with Dugal doing my first lessons on the road riding a motorcycle. He gave me the needed space to learn how to control and get comfortable with riding. After the first lesson, I wasn’t feeling comfortable and ready to take the restricted test, which he postponed to help me have one more lesson which helped me feel far more comfortable and was able to do my restricted test after only the second lesson. He shelters you very well from the traffic behind and helps you feel comfortable. He gives very clear instruction and has passion for his job. Was a pleasure doing lessons and license test with him. He even has a bike you can hire so you don’t have to buy one. I highly recommend using DM rider. Bike is in great condition so you feel safe on it.

I used Dugal for my BHST, CBTA Restricted and CBTA Full. I had the best experience, Dugal is patient, knowledgeable and amazing to be around. I'd recommend him to anyone looking to learn to ride. I will definitely be coming back for Ride Forever courses!

On Saturday, 5th April 2025, I finally tested and obtained my restricted motorbike license. I've owned a motorbike since 2017 after getting my learners license but haven't ridden often enough. I tested for my restricted with Dugal from DM Rider Training. I was nervous as hell and don't believe I was a very good student. Dugal was a very thorough trainer and made me aware of faults that I need to correct. His pre-ride conversation was very helpful and informative. The "headset" communication enabled us to discuss the use of mirrors, indicators, scanning for hazards, dangers at intersections, safe positioning on the road as well as moving off and turning back during the assessment phase while riding. Dugal was also able to talk me through my initial nervousness and gave me some advice as to how I might improve my riding skills and abilities for the future. Dugal you are a legend. Going through with restricted license coaching and test in a weather you would not want to be in, yeap that was us but with your co-operation and skilled knowledge guiding throughout every step of the way made it fun. Yes we can enjoy a ride in rain that is for sure now. Highly recommend 👌 👍 👏. Sure to be back for my full next year.

Sat my full licence with Dugal at DM Rider Training. Having not sat on a bike for several months, Dugal was clear on his expectations prior to starting, prompting / refreshing you on key points of the assessment. The ride, even in wet challenging conditions was enjoyable and Dugal was clear on his instructions putting you at ease. I thoroughly recommend Dugal for both your restricted and full licence or rider training.

As a complete novice to motorcycle riding, Dugal was the best instructor I could ask for. Patient, reassuring and practical at the same time. I went in with no confidence that I would ever get my basic handling license and came out with said license in two sessions. Anyone looking to get into riding - regardless of age- DM riding and Dugal is worth investing in.
